Dr. Hey Woong Park

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Hey Woong Park is Head of Battery Development, bringing over 24 years of hands-on experience in lithium-ion battery research, development, and commercialization for automotive and advanced electronics applications. Throughout his career, Dr. Park has focused on translating fundamental materials science into reliable, high-volume battery products, with a strong emphasis on real-world performance and manufacturability.

Prior to joining Volt Carbon Technologies, Dr. Park held senior engineering and technical leadership roles at LG Energy Solution (formerly LG Chem), working directly on lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles — spanning cell design, materials selection, performance validation, and manufacturing scale-up, and contributing to meaningful improvements in energy density, safety, and durability across commercial platforms.

Dr. Park now leads Volt Carbon's Solid UltraBattery Division, developing next-generation energy storage systems focused on high energy density and dependable performance in extreme cold conditions — targeting critical challenges in aerospace, defence, and electric mobility, where conventional batteries often fall short. He holds multiple battery-related patents covering cell architecture, materials integration, and manufacturing methods, and is a published author in electrochemical energy storage, widely recognized for his rigorous, data-driven approach to building battery technologies that perform reliably beyond the lab.
